Gitter keyboard shortcuts

Gitter is an open-source instant messaging system for users of GitHub. It
has a free option that provides all basic features like private chat rooms.
Like Slack, Gitter saves all messages in the cloud.

Gitter has 14 shortcuts and we have listed all of them below.



Global shortcuts

?                       Open keyboard shortcut help
Ctrl + /                Toggle compose mode
Q                       Quote selected text
R                       Quote selected text
Ctrl + S                Focus the search input
Ctrl + Shift + C        Focus the chat input
Ctrl + Shift + M        Show markdown help
Ctrl + Shift + K        Show keyboard shortcuts
Ctrl + Shift + [1 - 9]  Open item at numbered position in the menu bar
Up arrow / Down arrow   Navigate up and down the left menu once you have focus
Left arrow / Right arrow Navigate between the menu bar and conversation list in the left menu once
you have focus
Enter                   Go to the selected room once you have focus


Chat mode shortcuts
-------------------

Ctrl + Enter            Send message when in compose mode
Up arrow                Edit previous message (when possible)
