Linux Mint is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu and Debian. It aims to
be "a modern, elegant and comfortable operating system which is both
powerful and easy to use". It was first released on August 2006.

Linux Mint has 41 shortcuts and we have listed all of them below.



Frequently used shortcuts

Ctrl + Alt + Down arrow Open applications in the current workspace

After the list is shown, you can use arrow keys to navigate through open
windows and press Enter to choose a window.

Ctrl + Alt + Up arrow   List all open applications on all workspaces

After the list is shown, you can use arrow keys to navigate through open
windows and press Enter to choose a window.

Alt + Tab               Cycle through open windows
Alt + `                 Switch between windows of the same application
Alt + F6                Switch between windows of the same application immediately (without showing
a popup)
Shift + Alt + Tab       Cycle backwards through open windows
Alt + F2                Open the run dialog
Win + L                 Open the troubleshooting panel
Alt + F10               Maximize the current window
Alt + F10               Restore window to its previous size
Alt + F5                If the window is maximizded, make it unmaximized
Alt + F4                Close the window
Alt + F7                Move the window
Win + D                 Show desktop. Press again to return to the previous window
Alt + Space             Bring up the window menu for an application
Alt + F8                If the window is not maximizded, resize it
Win + Left arrow        Push current window to the left half of the screen. To snap it to the left
press CTRL, super, and the left arrow key
Win + Right arrow       Push current window to the right half of the screen. To snap it to the
right press CTRL, super, and the right arrow key
Win + Up arrow          Push current window to the top half of the screen. To snap it to the right
press CTRL, super, and the up arrow key
Win + Down arrow        Push current window to the top half of the screen. To snap it to the right
press CTRL, super, and the down arrow key
Shift + Win + Right arrow Move the window to the monitor on the right
Shift + Win + Left arrow Move the window to the monitor on the left
Shift + Win + Up arrow  Move the window to the top monitor
Shift + Win + Down arrow Move the window to bottom monitor
Shift + Ctrl + Alt + Left arrow Move the window to a workspace to the left
Shift + Ctrl + Alt + Right arrow Move the window to a workspace to the right
Ctrl + Alt + Del        Log out of the system
Ctrl + Alt + End        Shut down the system
Ctrl + Alt + L          Lock the screen
Ctrl + Alt + Esc        Restart the Cinnamon desktop. If Cinnamon locks up, try using this shortcut
and see if it solves the issue
Print Screen            Take a screenshot
Ctrl + Print Screen     Take a screenshot and copy it to the clipboard
Shift + Print Screen    Take a screenshot of a section of the screen
Alt + Print Screen      Take screenshot of the active window
Ctrl + Alt + Print Screen Take screenshot of the active window and copy it to the clipboard
Shift + Ctrl + Alt + R  Record a video of the screen
Ctrl + Alt + T          Open a terminal window
Win + E                 Open file explorer
Alt + Win + =           Zoom desktop in / out. Note: Zoom must be enabled under Universal Access
