PowerPoint was first released in April 1987 for Macintosh computers only. In their first significant acquisition, Microsoft bought PowerPoint for $14 million three months after it appeared. General ------- F5 Start a presentation from the beginning Shift + F5 Start a presentation from the current slide Alt + F5 Show the Presenter View Alt + S then B Show the Presenter View Control your slide show during the presentation ----------------------------------------------- The following keyboard shortcuts apply while you’re delivering your presentation in Slide Show (full-screen) mode. To enter Slide Show mode, press Alt+S, B. N Perform the next animation or advance to the next slide Enter Perform the next animation or advance to the next slide Page Down Perform the next animation or advance to the next slide Right arrow Arrow Perform the next animation or advance to the next slide Down arrow Perform the next animation or advance to the next slide Space Perform the next animation or advance to the next slide P Perform the previous animation or return to the previous slide Page Up Perform the previous animation or return to the previous slide Left arrow Perform the previous animation or return to the previous slide Up arrow Perform the previous animation or return to the previous slide Backspace Perform the previous animation or return to the previous slide [Num 1 - 9] + Enter Go to slide number B Display a blank black slide, or return to the presentation from a blank black slide . Ctrl + A Change the pointer to an arrow Ctrl + E Change the pointer to an eraser Ctrl + M Show or hide ink markup Ctrl + H Hide the pointer and navigation button immediately Ctrl + U Hide the pointer and navigation button in 15 seconds Ctrl + S View the All Slides dialog box Ctrl + T View the computer task bar Shift + F10 Display the shortcut menu Tab Go to the next hyperlink (or other hotspot) on the current slide. ("Hotspots" include: hyperlinks, animation triggers, audio objects, and video objects.) Shift + Tab Go to the last or previous hyperlink on the current slide Enter while a hyperlink is selected: Perform the "mouse click" behavior of the selected hyperlink. (Follow a selected hyperlink) Control video and other media during a presentation --------------------------------------------------- These keyboard shortcuts work with video files imported from your computer or other device. They don't work with online video files. During your presentation, if you want to see the list of media shortcuts, press F1. Then, in the Slide Show Help dialog box, go to the Media tab. Press the arrow key on the keyboard to move from one tab of the dialog box to the next. Alt + Q Stop media playback Ctrl + Space Play or pause media Alt + P Toggle between play and pause Alt + End Go to the next bookmark Alt + Home Go to the previous bookmark Alt + Up arrow Increase the sound volume Alt + Down arrow Decrease the sound volume Alt + U Mute the sound Alt + Shift + Page Down Seek forward three seconds Alt + Shift + Page Up Seek backward three seconds Alt + Shift + Right arrow Seek forward 0.25 seconds, then pause Alt + Shift + Left arrow Seek backward 0.25 seconds, then pause Alt + J Show/Hide audio and subtitles menu (for videos that have multiple audio tracks and/or subtitle tracks in supported formats.) Maneuver in Presenter View during a presentation ------------------------------------------------ The following keyboard shortcuts apply while you’re delivering your presentation by using Presenter View. Presenter View lets you look at your presentation with your speaker notes on one computer (your laptop, for example), while the audience views the notes-free presentation on a different monitor.
