These shortcuts  can be use for recovering from a unresponsive system or debugging.
To use these shortcuts, they must first be activated with either sysctl kernel.sysrq=1 or echo "1" > /proc/sys/kernel/sysrq

Unraw - Take control of keyboard back from X.

Alt + Sys Rq + E

Terminate - Send SIGTERM to all processes, allowing them to terminate gracefully

Kill - Send SIGKILL to all processes, forcing them to terminate immediately

Sync - Flush data to disk

Unmount - Unmount and remount all file systems read-only
