If you're not using the piano, you probably won't need extra keys and just use numeric pad keys. They follow the C scale:
3	Num 1	C
2	Num 2	D
0	Num 3	E
0	Num 4	F
-1	Num 5	G
1	Num 6	A
1	Num 7	B
Holding Numpad + key will turn the note into sharp.
-1	Num + + Num 1	C#
0	Num + + Num 2	D#
0	Num + + Num 3	F
0	Num + + Num 4	F#
0	Num + + Num 5	G#
-1	Num + + Num 6	A#
0	Num + + Num 7	C
1	Num Enter	Lower notes by one octave
