The keystroke - Ctrl + Enter DELETES THE CONTENTS OF THE CELL. What can I do to add a new line within that cell?????? without adding spaces?? Thank You

I checked and Ctrl + Enter adds a new line in a cell in LibreOffice Calc 5. Maybe it just looks like it is deleting while adding a new line?

I’m so used to ctrl + enter. REALLY it is deleting the cell row contents. I’ve had to go to a previous same document to retrieve that row. Now I have to use space at to get to the next line. I’m using Ver. 7.5.3.2 (86x64). Perhaps a fix is to uninstall and reinstall the program. Thank you for responding to this retired older person.
