Global shortcuts among this list will work everywhere around the system when RingCentral Phone Desktop is running.

You can assign shortcut for "Pick up the call". It is not assigned by default

Function keys are nice but not nice . For not nice instance, when I am inside an application of press F6 to perform a necessary action the Desktop App opens and moves my cursor to the app. No! No! I expect the F6 to be executed in the window I am in.

Can you please clarify: the shortcuts work "everywhere around the system"; does that mean within the application? Or, should the keyboard shortcuts also work in other applications?

My ideal is that I can highlight a phone number in another application (browser) and either right-click or use a keyboard shortcut to dial the number. Is this possible?

This article is written about 2 years ago, but it seems like I made a mistake. Not every shortcut here looks like "global" meaning works everywhere around the system. However the official site says "The Keyboard shortcuts or Global Hotkeys on your RingCentral Phone are always available as long as the app is running.", so some of them are global for sure. Regarding your question, I'm not an user of this application, so I don't know. According to link above, you may want to check Hotkeys under gear icon for a possible similar action.
